The purpose of this project is to study the mechanisms that regulate production by human neutrophils of inflammatory mediators that contribute to periodontal disease. Long term goals are to elucidate endogenous counter-regulatory mechanisms in inflammation, and to provide new therapeutic approaches to periodontal diseases.
