This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the
resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and
investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,
and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is
for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.
Ventricular dyssynchrony is an important contributing factor in the development of heart failure symptoms, however detection of this entity is suboptimal with existing imaging techniques. We seek to develop improved methods of detecting and quantifying dyssynchrony using tagged cardiac MRI. To this end, we have designed an MR-compatible motion phantom that simulates physiologic cardiac displacements, velocities, and acceleration. Preliminary results suggest that radial k-space sampling is less sensitive to motion blurring and benefits from viewsharing to a greater extent.

Publications
Publications are associated with projects, but cannot be identified with any particular year of the project or fiscal year of funding. This is due to the continuous and cumulative nature of knowledge generation across the life of a project and the sometimes long and variable publishing timeline. Similarly, for multi-component projects, publications are associated with the parent core project and not with individual sub-projects.
