Project Narrative
Georgia will develop a Food and Feed Rapid Response Team (RRT) in conjunction with
the Georgia Department of Public Health, Epidemiology and Environmental Health
Sections, the Georgia Fusion Center, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the
US Food and Drug Administration, and Academia to more effectively address public
health in food and feed emergency events. We will also work cooperatively with four
existing RRTs, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, and Virginia, to develop The Regional
Investigative Form and collaboratively develop RRT Resource Typing to assist with
EMAC (Emergency Management Assistance Compact) capabilities. __SpecificAimsTextDelimiter__

Capabilities Assessment
Result of Proposed Project
Developing a Georgia Food and Feed RRT will allow for increased communications
between state and federal partner agencies and provide a systematic food and feed
response capability in Georgia. The work with regional RRT mentors will create a
consistent and strong regional Food and Feed Response Team capability that will build
upon established best practices and create a cooperative regional capability that can be
shared on the national level through trainings and further collaborations with other
states. The development of RRT Resource Typing Guidance documents will contribute
to the national food preparedness system, and the development of the Regional
Investigation Form will create an additional investigative tool for the RRT Toolkit.

Publications
Publications are associated with projects, but cannot be identified with any particular year of the project or fiscal year of funding. This is due to the continuous and cumulative nature of knowledge generation across the life of a project and the sometimes long and variable publishing timeline. Similarly, for multi-component projects, publications are associated with the parent core project and not with individual sub-projects.
